Marketplace & Provider Policies

Effective Date: August 1, 2026
Last Updated: August 1, 2026

6. Vendor & Marketplace Policy

6.1 Seller Responsibility

Vendors and Parent Vendors are solely responsible for their products, descriptions, prices, inventory, legal compliance, customer service, taxes, delivery, shipping, returns, refunds, warranties, product safety, and disputes. Unless expressly stated, Happy Homeschoolers™ is not the seller, merchant of record, fulfillment provider, or party to transactions between buyers and sellers.

6.2 Accurate Listings

Listings must be accurate, current, and not misleading. Sellers must disclose material limitations, age recommendations, recurring charges, shipping costs, eligibility rules, expiration dates, and safety warnings. Images must depict the offered item or clearly identify mockups or representative images.

6.3 Prohibited or Restricted Listings

·         Illegal, stolen, counterfeit, infringing, recalled, or unsafe goods.

·         Weapons, explosives, controlled substances, tobacco/nicotine products, adult sexual products, pornography, or gambling services.

·         Hazardous chemicals, poisons, surveillance/spyware tools, or products intended for self-harm.

·         Fraudulent business opportunities, pyramid schemes, deceptive earnings claims, or fake credentials.

·         Products or services that exploit children, request inappropriate child information, or contain sexualized child content.

·         Unlicensed regulated services or medical/therapeutic claims that exceed the provider’s lawful scope.

6.4 Payments and Customer Disputes

When sellers collect payment directly, they must provide buyers with clear payment, cancellation, refund, shipping, and contact information. Happy Homeschoolers™ does not control or guarantee those transactions and is not responsible for chargebacks, non-delivery, quality, injury, or customer disputes. We may assist with communication or remove a seller, but are not obligated to mediate or refund third-party purchases.

6.5 Special Offers

Coupons, discounts, free trials, discount codes, and samples must state accurate terms, expiration dates, limitations, redemption instructions, and any later charge. Sellers must honor valid offers and comply with advertising and automatic-renewal laws.

6.6 Taxes and Records

Sellers are responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting taxes applicable to their own sales and for maintaining required licenses and records. Happy Homeschoolers™ does not provide tax advice.

7. Educator & Service Provider Policy

7.1 Scope

This policy applies to teachers, tutors, retired educators, homeschool instructors, coaches, speech-language professionals, ESL providers, therapists, consultants, and other individuals or organizations listing educational or support services.

7.2 Credentials and Claims

Providers must accurately describe degrees, licenses, certifications, experience, background checks, insurance, affiliations, and areas of expertise. Do not claim credentials you do not hold, imply governmental approval, or promise guaranteed educational, therapeutic, medical, admissions, or testing results.

7.3 Independent Services

Providers set their own schedules, prices, methods, policies, and service terms, subject to law and these policies. They are responsible for contracts, informed consent, parent communication, professional boundaries, records, accessibility, taxes, insurance, refunds, cancellations, and compliance with licensing and mandatory-reporting duties.

7.4 Child Contact and Virtual Services

Providers must communicate and schedule through the parent or legal guardian, use professional and age-appropriate practices, protect privacy, obtain permission before recording, and use reasonable virtual-meeting safeguards. Private or secret communications with minors are prohibited.

7.5 Background Checks

Unless Happy Homeschoolers™ expressly states otherwise in writing, it does not perform, verify, monitor, or guarantee background checks. Providers may not display a “background checked” claim unless it is truthful, current, and supportable. Families must independently decide what screening they require.

7.6 Classes and Course Listings

Listings must clearly state age range, prerequisites, format, dates, duration, price, materials, technology, refund/cancellation terms, adult-supervision expectations, accessibility limitations, and whether a session may be recorded. Providers must promptly communicate material changes and cancellations.

7.7 Educational and Therapeutic Boundaries

A directory listing does not convert educational support into licensed medical, psychological, legal, or therapeutic care. Providers must remain within their lawful professional scope, use required disclosures, and refer families to qualified professionals when appropriate.

8. Community Partner Policy

8.1 Eligible Participation

Community Partners may include libraries, museums, nonprofits, civic organizations, parks, faith-based organizations, support groups, public agencies, and other organizations serving families. Participation is subject to approval and may be limited by location, mission, safety, or relevance.

8.2 Free and Paid Activities

Free Community Partner benefits are intended for genuinely free events, programs, volunteer opportunities, and community resources. A Community Partner offering paid products or services may be required to enroll in an appropriate Vendor or other paid membership. Mislabeling a paid offer as free is prohibited.

8.3 Accuracy and Authority

The representative submitting information confirms authority to act for the organization. Partners must keep contact details, dates, eligibility, costs, accessibility information, registration requirements, and safety notices current.

8.4 No Endorsement or Funding Guarantee

A listing or featured status does not establish endorsement, sponsorship, grant eligibility, charitable status, or a partnership in the legal sense. Happy Homeschoolers™ does not guarantee attendance, volunteers, donations, referrals, publicity, or funding.

8.5 Donations and Charitable Claims

Organizations soliciting donations are responsible for lawful charitable registration, accurate tax-deductibility statements, receipts, donor privacy, and use of funds. Membership payments, advertising fees, purchases, and sponsorships must not be represented as tax-deductible donations unless they legally qualify.

9. Events, Classes & Activity Safety Policy

9.1 Independent Hosts

Unless Happy Homeschoolers™ expressly identifies itself as the host, events, classes, field trips, meetups, and activities are organized by independent providers. The host is responsible for venue safety, staffing, supervision rules, emergency procedures, insurance, permissions, accessibility, refunds, cancellations, and compliance with law.

9.2 Parent Responsibility

Parents and legal guardians must evaluate activities, disclose relevant needs directly to the host, follow venue rules, provide required supervision, and decide whether participation is appropriate. Happy Homeschoolers™ does not provide transportation, childcare, medical care, or emergency supervision unless expressly agreed in writing.

9.3 Ordinary Risks

Activities may involve ordinary risks, including travel, physical activity, outdoor conditions, allergens, equipment, crowds, illness exposure, and interactions with others. Separate waivers or releases may be required by the host. A general Platform agreement does not replace a properly drafted activity-specific waiver when one is appropriate.

9.4 Photos and Recordings

Hosts must disclose photo, video, livestream, or recording practices and obtain required permission. Participants must not record others, especially children, without authorization.

9.5 Cancellation and Weather

Hosts must publish clear cancellation, rescheduling, refund, and weather policies. Happy Homeschoolers™ is not responsible for host changes, closures, travel costs, missed activities, or third-party refunds.
