3. Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Happy Homeschoolers™ collects, uses, discloses, and protects information. It applies to the Platform but not to independent providers’ websites, forms, classes, payment systems, or practices.
3.1 Information We May Collect
· Account and identity information, such as name, email address, login details, membership type, and profile information.
· Business and professional information, such as organization name, representative name, credentials, service categories, website, social links, and listing content.
· Transaction information, such as subscription status, payment confirmation, invoices, and billing history. Full card data is generally handled by Stripe rather than stored by Happy Homeschoolers™.
· Communications, support requests, survey responses, newsletter preferences, reports, complaints, and moderation records.
· User Content, including posts, reviews, listings, images, event information, documents, and testimonials.
· Technical information, such as IP address, device/browser data, usage events, cookies, approximate location derived from IP, and security logs, depending on the tools enabled.
· Information a parent voluntarily provides about a child. Parents should provide only what is necessary and should not post sensitive child information publicly.
3.2 How We Use Information
· Create and manage accounts and memberships.
· Process subscriptions and provide receipts and billing support.
· Display profiles, listings, events, resources, special offers, and community content.
· Send transactional messages, service notices, newsletters, and marketing communications consistent with user preferences and law.
· Moderate content, investigate complaints, prevent fraud, protect children, enforce policies, and secure the Platform.
· Improve features, measure usage, troubleshoot problems, and plan services.
· Comply with law, respond to lawful process, preserve records, and protect legal rights.
3.3 How Information May Be Shared
We may share information with service providers that help operate the Platform; with other users when you choose to publish a profile, listing, post, review, event, or offer; with professional advisers; in a business reorganization; when legally required; or when reasonably necessary to protect safety, rights, and security. We do not sell personal information for money. [CONFIRM WHETHER ANY ADVERTISING OR ANALYTICS PRACTICE COULD CONSTITUTE “SALE” OR “SHARING” UNDER APPLICABLE STATE LAW].
3.4 Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives payment and billing information under its own privacy policy and terms. Happy Homeschoolers™ may receive transaction identifiers, customer details, subscription status, and limited payment-method information, such as card brand and last four digits.
3.5 Cookies and Analytics
The Platform and embedded third-party services may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies for login, preferences, security, analytics, and functionality. A separate Cookie Notice should be added after the final website, analytics tools, and embedded services are confirmed.
3.6 Email and Marketing Choices
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in the message or account preferences. We may still send necessary account, billing, security, legal, and service communications. We will not send marketing text messages without appropriate consent.
3.7 Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with accounting and legal obligations, and protect safety. Retention periods vary by information type. Public posts or materials shared with others may remain in backups or recipients’ possession after deletion.
3.8 Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting credentials and limiting the sensitive information they submit.
3.9 Access, Correction, and Deletion Requests
You may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible personal information by contacting customerservice@happyhomeschoolersapp.com. We may verify identity and may retain information when required for legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes. Rights vary by jurisdiction.
3.10 State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain states may have additional rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, or certain data uses. Happy Homeschoolers™ will respond as required by laws applicable to its size, activities, and data practices. This section should be reassessed as the Platform grows or expands its advertising and analytics practices.
3.11 International Users
The Platform is operated from the United States and is primarily intended for U.S. users. By using it from another country, you understand that information may be processed in the United States. Do not market internationally without reviewing applicable privacy and consumer laws.

4. Children’s Privacy & Safety Policy
4.1 Adult-Directed Platform
Happy Homeschoolers™ is designed for adults supporting children, not for children to create accounts or independently submit personal information. A child under 13 may not create an account, purchase a membership, maintain a public profile, privately message providers, or independently upload content.
4.2 Parent-Submitted Child Information
Parents and legal guardians may choose to provide limited information necessary to locate resources or participate in services. Do not publicly post a child’s full name, precise address, daily schedule, school location, login credentials, identification numbers, medical records, evaluations, IEPs, diagnoses, or other highly sensitive information.
4.3 Photos, Videos, and Testimonials
A user uploading a child’s image, voice, work sample, testimonial, or identifying information represents that the user is the child’s parent/legal guardian or has documented permission. Happy Homeschoolers™ may require a separate media release before using child-related content in advertising or promotional materials.
4.4 Provider Conduct with Minors
· Communicate through the parent or legal guardian and include the parent in scheduling and material communications.
· Do not request secrecy, private contact, unnecessary photos, home-access information, or sensitive personal information from a child.
· Do not engage in grooming, harassment, sexual content, exploitation, bullying, threats, or inappropriate physical or virtual conduct.
· Use age-appropriate, professional communication and comply with applicable reporting, licensing, and safety obligations.
· Do not record a child without clear advance permission from the parent or legal guardian.
4.5 Parent Supervision
Parents and legal guardians remain responsible for evaluating providers, supervising communications and activities, confirming virtual-meeting settings, securing devices, reviewing materials, and determining whether a product, class, event, or service is appropriate for their child.
4.6 Reporting Safety Concerns
Report urgent safety concerns to appropriate emergency or law-enforcement authorities first, then notify Happy Homeschoolers™ at customerservice@happyhomeschoolersapp.com. We may preserve relevant records, suspend accounts, remove content, and cooperate with lawful investigations. We cannot guarantee continuous monitoring or immediate response.
4.7 COPPA
If Happy Homeschoolers™ later knowingly collects personal information online directly from children under 13, it will need to reassess and implement any required Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act notices, parental-consent procedures, data-minimization practices, security safeguards, and deletion rights before activating those features.
